Tour of the White Mountains

The 14th Annual Show Low Bluff Tour of the White Mountains presented by Cellular One, scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2009 showcases some of Arizona's best single track located in and around the Northeastern Arizona communities of Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside.
At 7,000 ft., and coupled with the White Mountains Jam Session, over 500 riders will discover the challenges and gratification from riding awesome smooth flowing single track amongst a Ponderosa pine forest backdrop while witnessing the endless beauty (and perfect distraction) of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Upon completion of the ride, the White Mountains Jam Session will commence providing the perfect vibe to float all event participants into the evening after a good day on the bike.

With the onset of fall upon us, participants, friends, family, spectators and volunteers are invited to enjoy cooler climates, witness the leaves changing colors, visit amongst an awesome industry expo, indulge in the areas best food, ride seemingly endless amounts of single track and of course kick back at the White Mountains Jam Session.

The communities of Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside are sure to please any visitor with ample outdoor activities and plenty of opportunities to soak up local culture. Epic Rides encourages participants and their guests to spend the weekend in and around the town experiencing a vacation close to home and in the White Mountains of Arizona.

With great cooperation from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, T.R.A.C.K.S. and Show Low Bluff Development the Tour of the White Mountains course continues to improve each year.

All routes highlight the area's best trails consisting of smooth flowing single track, brief technical sections, a good mix of dirt roads, and cheek-to-cheek smile worthy descents. In short, all routes are incredibly fun!

Some of the stand-out qualities to the Tour routes are:

Choose your own adventure - Multiple distance options to choose from; 65, 35 and 15 miles for the more adventurous and a 10-mile fun ride for anyone interested in a shorter less strenuous stroll on dirt roads & jeep trails.

For every uphill there is a downhill - For the most part, all routes have a gradual climb during the first half and gradual descent during the second half...feel the flow.

It's all good! - Each route utilizes literally some of the best trails the White Mountains Trail System has to offer including Los Burros, Country Club, Springs and Blue Ridge plus in 2008 we added the Panorama, Timber Mesa, Ice Caves & Osprey trails.

Spin the uphill/Hammer the downhill - 70% of the climbing takes place on double track and jeep roads while 90% of the downhill is single track!

Location Location Location -
The event starts & finishes at Show Low Bluff Development. While the expo, camping and start/finish area will feel remote just up the hill from Show Low proper, in reality, the event is now based much closer to the comforts and amenities of the wonderful mountain towns of Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ.
While you're at the event be sure to drop in and check out Show Low Bluff...it's a development built with you, the outdoor enthusiast, in mind!

Click on the maps for a large sized, printable version. Topofusion has provided us with these beautiful maps of all distances including profiles and endless data (elevation, etc).

For pre-ride purposes, Epic Rides highly encourages you to cross reference our maps with the T.R.A.C.K.S. maps. T.R.A.C.K.S. maps offer detailed directions to each trail head and while on- route.
