Flagstaff, Old-Fashioned Mountain Bike Race

So it’s that time of the year 8th Annual Absolute Bikes, St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance Flagstaff, Old-fashioned Mountain Bike Race August 22, 2009.

Decided that I mist last years race that I would come out this year and take photo’s of the race and the riders that I knew. I hear that there was all together 300 rides that turned out for the race.

That is a great thing since the proceeds of the race go to the Flagstaff Food Bank. They have had this race for the 8 years now and it is one fun race to be apart of.

This year I had few friends riding in the race Joe Beer, Simon, Paul, Carlo and their kids.

I also seen Jeff a Sales Rep from Electra Bikes: and Chris a Sales Rep from Shimano: both really great guy’s that I have known for a few years. There was also other Rep’s there from Specialized:, & Giant:.

Absolute Bikes of Flagstaff they did a great job in putting this ride together and getting all the riders to come out and ride. This years after ride ceremony was at Absolute Bikes Shop. I was going to go but there isn’t that much places to park.

I wish they would put the after ride ceremony back at Wheeler Park. There is more parking spaces and a big place for every one to come out. When it was at the park there were more venders and a Beer garden. They use to have a ride if you weren’t racing they had a tour ride that went on the trails north of town.

Well may be next years event it will be back to the same. I can’t wait till next years ride & I hope to see you all at the 9th Annual Absolute Bikes Race.

Looked fun. I want to do it next year. My wife and I ended up in Oak creek canyon just looking for something to do last weekend.

How did you take all these pictures if you were in the race?

To be part of this tournament is a great opportunity and this will be a great experience too. Hope I can join to that kind of race because I love biking. Maybe I can join mountain biking here in Philippines. Thanks for sharing this wonderful information to us.
